The problem at the pantry

As soon as an office switches to reusable cups, the problem moves to the pantry: full dishwashers, wet countertops around the tap, and employees who have no time to wash up between two meetings. The result is that the cup is set aside after all, and the disposable cup wins.

The solution

One movement, two seconds, done

Rinse&Go makes rinsing as quick as throwing away. The user places the cup over the rinsing head and presses down: the inside is rinsed clean and the water drains straight into the collection tray. No queue, no mess, no detour via the dishwasher.

Rinse&Go uses about 200 ml per cup: 100 ml per second, for 2 seconds. For a dishwasher we assume 9.5 litres per cycle and 13 cups, because a pantry dishwasher is rarely full. The rinsing head

The rim your lips touch, rinsed as well

Besides the rinsing point in the middle, the rinsing head has side channels. These spray water against the outer rim of the cup, exactly where you put your lips. So in those same two seconds it is not only the inside that is rinsed, but that rim as well.

How do you clean reusable cups at the office?

In most offices people simply take a new cup during the day. Not out of unwillingness, but because rinsing is a hassle: there is a queue at the tap and the countertop gets wet, and the dishwasher only runs at the end of the day. That way each employee gets through several cups a day.

Rinse&Go puts the rinsing where the cup is emptied. Cup on top, a short press, and after about two seconds that person can carry on with the same cup. That brings down the number of cups per employee per day.

At the end of the day the cup still goes in the dishwasher. Rinsing is not a hygienic clean and does not replace that step.

Rinsing station or dishwasher: which should you use?

They do different things and they complement each other. A rinsing station rinses one cup the moment someone has emptied it, so that person can carry on with the same cup instead of taking a new one. A dishwasher cleans a full load in one go, and that is what you need at the end of the day.

So Rinse&Go does not replace the dishwasher. It makes sure fewer cups end up in it each day. How much water that saves is shown above, with the calculation behind it.

Do you need to dry the cup after rinsing?

Rinse&Go rinses, it does not dry. The cup comes out wet, just as it would under the tap, and you can carry on with it straight away.

Do not put it back in the cupboard for a colleague. Rinsing is not a hygienic clean: the cup is meant to be reused by the same person, and goes in the dishwasher at the end of the day.

Do our own cups and mugs fit?

Yes, as long as the cup or mug is no wider than 140 mm. There is no maximum height.

With standard-size mugs the handle simply sits alongside. And it does not have to be plastic: ceramic and glass work too.

What makes Rinse&Go unique?

Rinse&Go rinses a single cup, right where that cup is used. In about two seconds, without a dishwasher and without a washing-up brush.

And it does not stop at the inside: besides the rinsing point, the rinsing head has side channels that spray water against the outer rim of the cup. That is exactly where you put your lips.

It also needs no electrical connection: the rinse cycle runs entirely on the water pressure of the supply. That turns reuse from a detour into a two-second action at the coffee machine.

What does a Rinse&Go rinsing station cost?
